All AHNS staff members meet or exceed the qualifications set forth by the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC). Many teachers have bachelor or master’s degrees, in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field. Our staff members are continually learning, growing and staying abreast of best practices within our field through participating in workshops, seminars, and conferences.
All of the teachers work on teams which create supportive environments for learning through play and structured activities. The teaching teams listens, observes and documents children’s work, encourages growth of community in the classroom, provokes and stimulates thinking and children’s collaboration with peers. The teachers work collaboratively to organize the rooms for free play and to encourage the development of social skills.
