Welcome to the Infant Toddler Program at Arlington Heights Nursery School! Our teaching approach is based on building trusting, nurturing and respectful relationships with each child. Teachers support each stage of a child’s social and emotional growth as well as provide a warm and cozy environment. Classroom environments are designed to foster each child’s curiosity while providing opportunities to support and strengthen language and cognitive development.
The curriculum in each classroom is based on the emerging interests of the children. Teachers use daily observations to guide their decisions regarding which materials to set out in the classroom to invite investigation and exploration. We believe that children deserve to have access to beautiful materials and expose them to a variety of open ended and natural materials.
Music, Movement, Art and sensory play is a daily occurrence in our classrooms and you will see documentation of these experiences in the hallways and in the classrooms. Teachers provide open-ended activities where the children have the freedom to explore however they want and need to. Infants may explore the texture of sand or bubble wrap and toddlers may find joy in squishing and smearing finger paints or pouring cups of water into the sensory table.
We welcome you to ask questions or schedule a tour.
